  • Do not touch the treated area for 4-6 hours.

  • Do not apply make up for 6 hours following treatment

  • The treated area may feel tender, bruised, swollen post-treatment. Please allow two weeks for this to subside.

  • Avoid applying pressure/manipulating the treated area for 2-3 days

  • Avoid beauty treatments for at least two weeks, for example, facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion

  • Keep upright for 4-6 hours after your treatment

  • Allow 7-14 days for results to take effect

  • A top-up is only required after 21 days if full movement persists

  • If a top-up is required, this has to be taken within 25 days of your original appointment.

  • Allow 14-21 days for best results

  • Avoid activities involving straining, heavy lifting or exercise 24 hours after treatment

  • Avoid alcohol and anti-inflammatory medications before treatment.

Dermal filler aftercare

  •  Avoid wearing makeup to the treated area for at least 12 hours

  • Do not expose the area to any intense heat, avoid sun-beds, saunas and steam rooms

  • Up to a few hours following treatment, the skin may appear red around the treated area and skin may be slightly blanched (whiteness of the skin) where the anaesthetic cream was applied

  • The area may swell post-treatment and may also bruise. Bruising depends on the individual. If you are prone to bruising it is likely that your chances of doing so are higher. You can reduce the bruising by applying a cold compress to the area.

  • The area treated may feel slightly lumpy or hard to the touch for a few days following the treatment. It takes an average of two to six weeks for the treated area to completely settle.  This is perfectly normal and just your body’s way of responding to injury. This will subside in time.

  • Lumps that are visible after a lip augmentation can be reduced by massaging them between your fingers and thumb. DO NOT massage lumps you can’t see as this may displace the filler.

  • It is common to feel a little numbness and tingling for a few days on the treated area

  • Avoid alcohol consumption post-treatment as this increases blood circulation and may prolong bruising or swelling

  • Avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications as this can thin the blood therefore may increase bruising and bleeding to the treated area

  • Lips cannot be re-filled following treatment for at least six weeks as it carries the risk of overfilling

  • Dermal Fillers start to dissolve over time and last on average 6-9 months.  At this point a follow-up appointment may be needed to maintain results
